Teresa Wilson, aka "TJ" - Bass Guitar, mother of three, was born in Philadelphia . She began singing and playing the organ and piano in church at age two and played for various churches, choirs, and gospel events throughout Philadelphia. TJ began playing bass at age seven, playing for various schools, churches, bands, etc., as well as accompanying her mother who was a singer, as needed. She also played the drums in school, church, drill teams, plays, as well as the trumpet, sax, euphonium, violin, trombone and flugelhorn, but her love has always been for bass. At age twelve, TJ moved to Baltimore and continued playing in schools and churches and played for many local units, some of which she has forgotten the names. Some include, B.A.D (Brothers against Destruction), Soundstream, The Ernie Williams Project, Inside Out, The Lindwood Battle Band, Perfect Timing, one gospel play, Amor Tropical Band, Kalechi Reggae Band, Manue and Okoyo Kakaya, and Unity Reggae Band. Additionally, she has also had the pleasure of working with Creation Reggae Band, Rhythms Around the World (R.A.W), and Iron Rhythms. She was blessed to be able to tour with Everton Blender last summer, along with working with George Kouakou and Serges Kassy from Cot' D' Voire (Ivory Coast, West Africa) with whom she recorded two tracks on the 'Seko Medouman' CD. TJ loves music from around the world, having played various genres including gospel, jazz, funk, fusion, disco, country, blues, celtic, salsa, meringue, calypso, soca, and even some middle eastern music with a unit called Hands Down. Her love for reggae is tremendously strong, and she feels honored to be part of the positive vibes that she experiences playing the music.
